If it’s good enough for the Duchess, its worth paying attention to! Black lace is timeless, elegant and taking the classic LBD to a whole other level!
ON THE RAMP
French Vogue reported that the biggest stars at Cannes could be seen wearing the little black lace dress, and that it is clearly here to stay.” Emma Stone chose Oscar de la Renta, Naomi Watts wore Ralph Lauren Collection, and Charlize Theron, Valentino’ – here’s how to make this trend your own.
FROM KATE TO KELLY, CELEBS IN LACE!
Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, married to the hunky Prince William is every bit the example of style and grace. Our generation’s answer to the late Princess Diana, shows us how British royalty wears this trend . A knee length, long sleeve lace dress is a piece that almost any woman can wear, flattering to women of every age and body shape!
From Floor length gowns to cocktail dresses, this style trend is all over the red carpet from the VMA’s to the Oscars! My favourite aspect of this trend is that it can be a touch of lace detail like Kelly Osbourne, or OTT full on lace, like Rihanna and JLO – it is easy to find a dress that suits your body type. Girls with curves love this trend! Embrace those curves honey!
HOW TO WEAR IT
Lace detail can be found on a dress that suits you and your body type! Look into your wardrobe at your favourite Little Black Dress. Is it short, knee length, or long? Where do you want the focal point of the dress to be -your legs, bust, arms, back? Lace will draw attention to the area it is placed on the garment.
PLUS SIZE? NO PROBLEM! Lace sleeves cover up the area that a lot of women are not happy with – their ARMS! Take a page out of Kelly Osbourne’s book – a proudly curvy celeb. The lace is placed on her neckline, bust and covers her arms, similar to the dresses below!
MY LITTLE BLACK LACE DRESS
I chose this black lace cocktail dress because it flatters my body perfectly – I have a small bust so the emphasis is on my legs! A nude heel goes with EVERYTHING, and a metallic, gold clutch adds a bit of sparkle to complete the look.
