It’s Winter again! Time to pack away your summer dresses and swop them for soft, comfy, luxurious layers.
Year after year the ‘faux fur’ jacket continues to trend – sure, it keeps you warm – but it also tends to make one feel like a rapper in a 90’s Diddy music video – Winning at Life! Here are the two faux fur trends I am inlove with – and how to make them your own – let the models, celebs and street style fashionistas inspire you!
ON THE RAMP
Fall/Winter 2017 saw international designers opting for bold colour – solid cropped jackets and longer knee length coats were everywhere from Gucci to Yeezy.
Fashionistas from all over the world flocked to New York for fashion week and showed us how to take the trend from the ramp to the street.
ON THE STREET
The HOTTEST trend at fashion week was clearly COLOUR! Mint greens, pinks, sapphire blue and even emerald green were all seen on the super chic and trendy streets of the Big Apple! With skirts. over puffer jackets, layered with leather – there are so many ways to style this trend.
A few of our fave celebs took to the street to show us how they wear this trend in the chilly months. Solange opts for a monotone look – all red – completed with a knee length coat, whereas Gigi rocks a casual jeans and vest #OOTD with a shaggy two-tone jacket. Both Victoria’s Secret angel Sara Sampaio and Kim K opt for more simple, classic coats.
MY TAKE ON THE TREND
I absolutely love this trend and decided to style it in two ways : Classic and sophisticated, and Young & Trendy.
Prim & Proper Princess : Pleated high waisted pants, paired with a simple loose fit vest and pastel knee length coat made for this luxe , sophisticated look. (Coat & Pants from Parooz Fashions)
Dare to Be Bold : Inspired by the fashion seen on the streets of New York City, I decided to own this ombre, shaggy faux fur! Because it is such a statement piece I wore the jacket over a simple grey bodysuit and grey skinny jeans. (Jacket, Bodysuit & Jeans from Parooz Fashion).
*STYLE TIP* – pair a bright, bold statement piece with neutral colours like black, grey, beige or white
