What to Pack When You Travel : My Top Tips

PicsArt_03-09-07.51.19It’s always tricky when packing for your vacay, especially with limited weight allowance on the plane, or restricted space in the trunk of your car… No stress fashion lovers! Here are my top tips for what to pack, so you will always be Instagram ready! Lets go!

1. Travel Comfy!

Most trips are long and you will be in a confined space like a car or plane, not much room to stretch out, (unless you are living that fabulous VIP, Business Class life). So for me, COMFORT IS KEY! Sweats, boyfriend jeans and cotton tanks or baggy crops, with sneakers – that is my travel uniform as you can see in the pics above. I never wear make up when I travel either, so a big pair of sunnies will help you look like  those fab celebs travelling trying not to be noticed by fans – ha ha ha

*Sweats are always great to take with because even if you are travelling somewhere warm,  it may rain. You’ll thank me later*

2. Always Pack a Great Cozzie

If you are going somewhere tropical and warm you will definitely need a swimming costume, and if you are going somewhere cold, you may want to use the hotel’s sauna, pool, or jacuzzi, either way, its always better to come prepared. I’m obsessed with the monokini trend – which is great because you can eat all you want at the breakfast buffet and not have to worry about sucking in your tummy 😉

3. Denim Shorts

I have had these worn, washed denim shorts for YEARS! They are comfortable and go with anything – great for walking around exploring a new city, or worn over your swimming costume on the beach!

4. A Summer Dress

The style of dress is completely up to you, whether it be a grecian goddess style maxidress, or a shirt dress (as seen above). A dress is easy and requires minimal effort to style, throw on a pair of sandals or flip-flops and you are good to go.

*Take this look from day to night with a statement necklace and some wedge heels and you are ready for sundowners with your girls!*

5. The Denim Shirt & Leggings

The denim shirt is so versatile and can be worn with any and ALL of the items I have listed above. It can be worn as a shirt, or thrown over your outfit to protect from serious African sunburn, or as a lightwight cover-up on cooler summer nights.

Leggings are a staple in most ladies’closets! They are great for travelling especially if you are trekking through the bush! Instead of going for traditional black leggings, try buying a pair in grey or olive – super on trend!

6. TRENDY ACTIVE-WEAR

Odds are, your vacay will include a hike, or walk, or tour of some kind that will require you to use those gorg legs of yours! I love packing a cute active wear outfit that is practical and and will make the gram look super chic!

7. Something to make them say ‘Well Don’t you clean up nice’

I’m a firm believer in packing a ‘just incase’ outfit! It could be that one night you feel like dressing up for dinner at the hotel, or trying out a pretty local bar. As mentioned earlier, you could dress up your maxidress by throwing on some heels and adding some accecories like a chunky belt, or statement jewellery – this wont take up much excess room in your bag.

Or, if you are anything like me and want to go the extra mile and pack a sexy bodycon dress and heels then do it babe! The photos will make it all worth it!
